ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"My work is an exploration of the human condition—how we navigate time, mortality, change, and the introspective spaces in between. Through figurative paintings and drawings, I craft narratives interwoven with vivid symbolism, drawing on surreal compositions that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Dramatic landscapes, restless skies, and enigmatic animals frequently inhabit my canvases, acting as metaphors for emotional states, existential questions, and the transient nature of life.
Though my style is rooted in realism, I am drawn to the tension created when familiar forms exist within strange, dreamlike contexts. This duality allows me to explore the discomfort and beauty found in impermanence and uncertainty. My background in English and Linguistics deeply informs my approach, shaping the narrative threads that run through my work—each painting is a dialogue, an unfinished story inviting the viewer to fill in the gaps.
I am fascinated by how visual art can function like language, with symbols and imagery that resonate differently with each viewer. Whether through the haunting gaze of an animal or the vastness of an empty horizon, my work seeks to evoke a sense of mystery, reflection, and connection to something both deeply personal and universally human."
